Sustainable Design

Brand Fever

Sustainable collaborations include the re-branding of a premier ad agency, Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) with custom, eco-sensitive design of their new corporate headquarters. Every finish and feature are a testimony to the strength of the sustainable movement, and to the growth and forward-thinking of the agency. The project was not only awarded the Atlanta Downtown Developer's Excellence Award, but was also a finalist in the Spark International Design Awards.

Two early 1900′s warehouses in the historic Pioneer Mills were carefully combined, with low-impact fabrication and construction, and a design program that called for incorporation of exposed brick walls, timber beams and columns, and hardwood and concrete floors.

Furnishings are constructed of Kirei Board, a reclaimed waste product of the sorghum industry, and Chroma, a renewable material from 3-form, giving a colorful kick to desks, conference tables and brainstorming areas. Light fixtures, made from recyclable steel, are individually dimmable, enhancing work stations and energy efficiency. The lobby's translucent Pep floor maximizes light on the lower level. Focal walls were also trimmed with Kirei Board, with paintings by local artist Michi Meko on panels of compressed wheat straw graphically telling the agency's story.

We are proud to have worked closely with People of Resource, an Atlanta-based industrial design firm, internationally recognized lighting designer and sculptor Christopher Moulder, and general contractor ReInnovations.

Eco Retreat

Had-a-Farm, a South Florida Eco Retreat, is the result of an intensive collaboration with Mateu Architects of Miami. Once complete, the 14-acre family retreat will feature all natural, sustainable materials, generate enough power to remain completely off the grid, and – through a system of water features – help return the land to its original wetlands condition.
